Hoy, además de el Día de la Toalla, es el día del Orgullo Friki o Geek Pride Day en honor del estreno del primer film de la saga Star Wars y para celebrarlo os traemos un método mediante el cual aprenderéis a hablar dothraki con fluidez de forma sencilla.
Como ya os contamos hace un tiempo, el dothraki fue creado por George R. R. Martin para la saga Canción de Hielo y Fuego pero fue el lingüista David J. Peterson el que lo desarrolló para que Khal Drogo y los suyos hablasen en su propio idioma en la versión televisiva de Juego de Tronos (Game of Thrones). A partir de las pocas palabras que aparecen en los libros, Peterson creó unos tres mil términos —muchos de los cuales todavía no se han utilizado en la serie— e ideó una fonética que permitía a los actores hablar de manera natural y una gramática para facilitar el trabajo de los guionistas.
Aprender dothraki de cero, como con cualquier otro idioma, es bastante complicado pero ahora la aerolínea australiana Cheap Flights y NeoMam Studios nos lo ponen muchísimo más fácil con esta recopilación de frases básicas que viene acompañada por una como pequeña iniciación a la historia y las costumbres de este peculiar pueblo nómada. Siguiendo sus consejos podrás saludar, insultar e incluso a seducir en esta lengua gutural en un periquete, porque nunca se sabe cuándo te puedes encontrar con una khaleesi en apuros o con un fornido guerrero con ganas de comunicarse.
